Fresh Vs Frozen Durians: What’s the Difference?
The main difference between fresh durians and frozen durians are their preserving time. Of course frozen durians will last longer that fresh durians where fresh durians usually last 1-2 weeks after being harvested and frozen durian can be stored for at least 18 months in cold storage.
The pulp of the fresh durian and frozen durian both taste the same after defrosting but frozen durian sometimes can be eaten when its partially defrosted and it tastes just like ice cream.
Fresh durian can be served directly whereas you will have to wait for the frozen one to defrost for 2-3 hours. Fresh durians can only be found during durian seasons and they might not last long until they deliver to your doorstep. Frozen durian in the other hand can be found all time around the year as they are frozen during seasons to last long enough for more than a year.
