The most expensive durian is D200 Black Thorn. Black Thorn is a hybrid durian that won a durian competition in Penang Malaysia during 2012. Its pulp has a bright yellow and rosy orange hue. The flesh is thick and creamy. It is so expensive because it was limited to Penang at first, until recently,　Black Thorn had been imported to other location such as Pahang and Johor.

Why is Musang King and Black Thorn So Expensive?

Due to the long cultivating duration of their trees, most of the durians are expensive but not as expensive as Musang King and Black Thorn. This is because both of them are hybrid durians created by farmers through generations and generations of trial and hybrid breeding. Also, farmers risked their lives daily to go into deep mountain valleys just to collect them makes them worth more than it looks.

There are two predicted seasons each year which are the big season from June to October and the smaller season from December to Febuary. Usually the season will be within these months and sometimes they came earlier or late. Also the season might end early or late too depends on the current weather on that season.
