Musang King is produced in a variety of places across Malaysia. However, only the Musang King that produced in Pahang with the highest quality. The rainwater will flow down with the terrain and it will not be gathered at the roots of the durian tree. Hence, the flesh of the Musang King is slightly dry, the skin of the flesh is wrinkled, and it tastes sweet and slightly bitter. Mostly, the highland Musang King is dominated by old trees. 

The quality of Musang King is depending on the age of the plant. The durian tree’s age needs to be 25-30 years which is considered the best fruit condition. To determine the older age durian fruits is easy, the more wrinkles the flesh skin, the older the age of the tree, and the better the taste of the durian.
